Alan Rue - 3/4th Grade Boys

Proud father of two, Alan and his wife have been residents of Old Bridge for 14 years.  Alan is currently a Sr Director of Finance at Broadridge Financial Solutions. His wife, Christine, put her career on hold for her children, in order to be actively involved in volunteer opportunities at both school and church.

Alan is described by many as a basketball junkie, who’s love of the sport began at age five. As student athlete, Alan participated in an AAU program, was selected to play and train in Europe as a high school freshman, played four years of varsity basketball at two different high schools, McCorristin Catholic (currently Trenton Catholic Academy) and Solebury Prep in PA. Playing with and against multiple division I and II athletes, Alan received a basketball scholarship and played one year of Division II basketball at Wilmington College in DE.  After undergoing a third knee surgery, Alan transferred to Seton Hall University to focus on his education, receiving his bachelor’s degree in business in 2001.

Alan began coaching at OBBA in 2016 as an assistant coach in the instructional division, as well as participating in Instructional Clinics. The playing and coaching experiences he has acquired throughout his basketball career, allows him to teach the fundamentals of the game while emphasizing important life lessons like hard work, goal setting, leadership, teamwork and confidence to our youth.
